The Brave Gears Who Restarted Time - Peťko rozprávkár

Inside a forgotten attic alarm clock lives a tiny mechanical community led by Coggy, a courageous gear who keeps the clock’s rhythm alive. Alongside him are Springy, a precise and cautious spring, and Screwy, an inquisitive screw who holds their world together. Their peaceful routine shatters when the familiar TICK–TOCK suddenly stops, leaving their metal home frozen in silence. Confused and frightened, the trio must investigate the mechanism’s interconnected parts to discover what disrupted their rhythm. Their journey takes them through the silent interior of the clock, past still wheels and slumbering levers, as they search for the cause behind the breakdown. The deeper they go, the clearer it becomes that even the smallest flaw can endanger their entire world.

In an old, dusty attic, where sunbeams played tag with cobwebs, stood a forgotten alarm clock. His name was Tick-Tock and his face no longer smiled. However, within his metal interior pulsed a small, bustling world. A group of mechanical friends lived there.

The main hero was Coggy, a brave gear wheel who was never afraid to move things forward. His best friend was Springy, a careful and wise spring who knew how to tense and release at exactly the right moment. Also part of the group was Screwy, a tiny but extremely curious screw who held everything together and thought about everything.

Their life had a precise rhythm. TICK! Coggy moved forward one tooth. TOCK! Springy gently trembled and moved the lever. This regular sound was like the heartbeat of their home.

Until one day something unexpected happened.

TICK!

And then... nothing.

No TOCK.

Throughout the entire alarm clock, a deep, strange silence prevailed. Movement ceased.

"What happened?" whispered Springy, shrinking with fear.

"Silence..." marveled Screwy, looking at the motionless levers above him. "Our home's heart has stopped beating."

Only Coggy didn't remain silent. He twisted right and left, but was stuck. "Something is holding us! I can't move. And if I don't move, nothing moves!"

"We must do something," declared Coggy determinedly. "We must find out why we stopped."

"But how?" asked Springy. "We've never left our places."

"Exactly!" exclaimed Screwy. "We're all connected like a chain. If one link breaks, the whole chain stops. We must examine that chain!"

It was a bold idea. "Springy, you're long enough. Try to stretch and see if you can spot something unusual," suggested Coggy.

Springy carefully obeyed. She stretched one end as far as she could manage. "It's cold and solid. I don't see anything strange about it," she reported.

"Good. Let's try another plan. I can loosen myself a bit and unscrew. I'll be our scout," Screwy thought.

"He won't go alone," decided Coggy, "Springy, if you stretch toward me, you can gently lift me from my place. And I'll roll after Screwy."

It was a risky plan. But silence and darkness were more frightening. Springy took a deep breath and tensed all her strength. She stretched toward Coggy, caught him by one of his teeth, and with great effort lifted him up.

Coggy was free. He carefully rolled across the smooth metal platform and landed right next to Screwy, who was already slowly unscrewing himself from his hole.

"Ready for adventure?" asked Coggy.

"Curiosity is stronger than fear," replied Screwy, and he headed into the unknown, silent reaches of the mechanism.

Their journey led through a forest of polished rods and around enormous wheels that now slept an eternal sleep. Everywhere was eerie silence. Finally they reached a small, vital lever that was the heart of all movement. And there they saw it.

Between the lever and its stop was wedged a small gray fluff. It was a piece of dust and cobweb that must have fallen from above. It was soft, but firmly stuck. This was what prevented the lever from moving.

"The enemy!" whispered Coggy. "Such a small speck and it stopped our entire world."

"We must remove it," said Screwy. "Try pushing into it, Coggy."

Coggy ran up and crashed into the fluff. However, it didn't budge, only pressed even more into the gap.

"Ow! That's not the way," said Screwy, measuring the situation. "Don't push it in, we must pull it out! Coggy, use your teeth!"

Coggy understood. He carefully approached the fluff, bit into it with one of his sharp metal teeth, and began backing up. With great effort he pulled and pulled. Screwy helped him and pushed the lever to the other side to release the pressure.

Suddenly there was a soft "pop" and the fluff was out!

In that second the lever trembled, moved, and struck into its place.

TOCK!

The sound flew through the entire alarm clock like a wave of energy. And then came the response.

TICK!

That was another wheel moving far from them. The alarm clock's heart began beating again! Their entire little town was slowly awakening to life.

"We did it!" cheered Coggy.

"Quick, we must return to our places!" urged Screwy.

They hurried back through the awakening mechanism. Springy was already waiting for them impatiently and helped Coggy fit back into his place. Screwy quickly screwed himself in. And precisely at that moment their familiar rhythm sounded.

TICK! – TOCK! – TICK! – TOCK!

That day everything changed in their small world. They were no longer just components. They were heroes. They understood that each of them was important and that only together could they keep their home's heart beating.

And who knows. Maybe one day someone will open the door to the old attic, find the forgotten alarm clock, and hear its quiet, faithful ticking. And maybe they'll take it downstairs, dust it off, and Tick-Tock will smile in the sun again. But that's another story.
